Fisheries Cottage – Fisheries Cottage is a Grade II listed building that experienced an extensive fire in 2016. The main building was sympathetically restored to its former glory, while the dated modern extension was replaced with an honest modern extension using coursed stone to match the main building and frameless structural glazing. FEDS provided structural engineering services throughout the restoration. From the initial structural inspection after the fire, the stabilization of the damaged structure, the listed building consultation phase, the detailed design phase through to the construction phase. FEDS also provided civil engineering design services, which included the design of a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) in the form of a permeable paved driveway to manage surface water run-off in accordance with best practice design standards.
